Financial assistance with veterinary care
An important way we are helping pet owners is through assistance with meeting emergency veterinary bills. We know that a pet’s unexpected injury or illness can sometimes result in very large bills, meaning that people might be faced with being unable to afford the care their pets desperately need.
In these circumstances, we may be able to help. We provide assistance mainly, but not exclusively, to people on benefits. Depending on circumstances, we may be able to pay all or some of the costs involved. Speak to your vet, to see if you can access our support through them. If so, contact us on 01428 642180, to discuss whether we may be able to help.
Petfood for local foodbanks
As the cost-of-living crisis hits, one sad consequence is people being forced to give up their pets. We realise how distressing it must be to lose a much-loved pet for, perhaps temporary, financial problems. So, we have introduced a scheme to assist in trying to keep pets in their current homes, especially as all the animal shelters and adoption centres are full. We are making regular donations of dog and cat food to the foodbanks that want them, across the Alton, Haslemere and Petersfield area. The food is a combination of kind public donations left in our collection boxes in local vets’ surgeries and food that we purchase.
