A Bright Future for One Lucky Duck

Not all our rescues have four legs! Recently, we were called to Caterham to assist a duck living in truly heartbreaking conditions.

This poor bird had been kept in a filthy, cramped shed alongside a group of chickens. Most upsettingly for a water bird, he had no access to a bath or clean water to swim in—something essential for a duck’s physical health and mental wellbeing.

Recognising he deserved better, the owner agreed to sign him over to our care. He was whisked away by one of our dedicated team members Inspector Liz Wheeler for a much-needed, long-overdue bath. After a thorough clean-up and a clean bill of health, he was introduced to a new flock.

We’re happy to report he has settled in perfectly with his new feathered friends and is finally enjoying the life—and the water—he was always meant to have!
